Four ways to work with DataMax

Most buyers fit one of the first three commercial paths. Catalog download is the fastest starting point when you are still comparing platforms.
How It Works

The OEM/ODM process, step by step

Every stage has an explicit decision milestone, so scope is frozen before money is committed.
1

Inquiry & briefing

Target market, channel, product type, must-have specs, estimated quantity, and launch timeline collected through the structured RFQ form.

2

Platform recommendation

Engineering matches a focused set of proven platforms to your price band, brightness tier, and use scenario instead of quoting the whole catalog.

3

Quotation & scope freeze

Commercial terms and the phase-one customization list are confirmed, separating must-have items from later-phase ideas.

4

Sample & prototype

Branded or functional samples are produced so appearance, UX, accessory set, and basic performance can be evaluated against real criteria.

5

Sample approval

You test against the agreed evaluation checklist; adjustments are logged before any tooling or bulk decision.

6

Pilot & tooling

Where custom parts are involved, tooling and a pilot batch validate the design before full production scheduling.

7

Mass production & QC

SMT, assembly, and packing follow the approved sample, with incoming, in-line, and final quality control documented.

8

Certification & shipping

Market-specific certification, export documentation, packing, and freight are coordinated to your chosen Incoterms.

Customization Checklist

What can be customized on an OEM order

Scope is agreed in writing per item. The earlier a requirement is named, the more accurately MOQ and lead time are quoted.

Branding & packaging

Logo placement, retail box, gift box, inserts, carton marking, and product naming.

Firmware & UI

Boot logo and animation, default language, launcher layout, preloaded apps, and system settings within licensing rules.

Mechanical & ID

Housing color and finish, lens cover, keystone layout, and — on ODM projects — structural redesign.

Optical performance

Brightness tier, light source, throw configuration, and resolution matched to the intended room or venue.

Accessories

Remote, power cable, carry bag, ceiling mount, spare lamp modules, and market-specific accessory packs.

Language & documentation

Printed and digital manuals, quick-start cards, and packaging in target-market languages.

Certification support

FCC, CE, RoHS, REACH, BIS, GMS, and other market-specific compliance coordinated with the model selection.

Logistics terms

EXW, FOB, and other Incoterms, carton configuration, palletization, and consolidated shipment planning.

Commercial Basics

MOQ, samples, and lead time

MOQ follows customization scope

Standard-platform wholesale orders start at lower quantities; branded packaging and firmware customization raise the MOQ, and custom tooling carries a different threshold again. Tell us your target volume and we will quote the exact tier.

Samples have a purpose

A sample is produced against an agreed evaluation checklist — appearance, UX, key performance, and accessory completeness — so approval is a real commercial milestone rather than an open-ended review.

Lead time is planned, not guessed

Lead time changes with packaging, firmware, and tooling scope and with production season. The quotation states the sample schedule and the bulk schedule separately before the order is confirmed.

See how scope is controlled in real programs

Ten regional and channel case studies — plus three anonymized deployment scenarios — show how first-wave scope is frozen and executed. Shipping, Incoterms, and delivery planning are documented on the shipping page.
Service FAQ

OEM/ODM questions buyers ask first

What is the MOQ for an OEM projector order?
MOQ depends on customization scope. Standard models ordered in plain packaging start at the lowest tier; branded packaging, firmware customization, and custom tooling each raise the threshold. The RFQ response states the MOQ for your exact scope rather than a single generic number.
How long do samples and mass production take?
Sample and bulk schedules are quoted separately because they depend on the platform, branding scope, and whether tooling is involved. Confirming the sample checklist and the customization list early is the fastest way to protect both timelines.
Can you develop a fully custom projector for our brand?
Yes — that is the ODM path. Industrial design, structure, electronics, and firmware modification are scoped by engineering; where an existing platform meets the brief, the faster private-label path is recommended instead.
Will our design and business information be protected?
Mutual NDAs are standard before detailed specifications, drawings, or commercial terms are shared. Customer names, exact models, quantities, and terms are never published, as the anonymized case studies demonstrate.
Which trade and shipping terms do you support?
EXW and FOB are routine, with other Incoterms arranged to your market. Carton configuration, documentation, and consolidated shipments are planned with the order; see the shipping page for detail.

Ready to define the project?

Complete the structured RFQ with your market, product direction, quantities, and timeline. A sales engineer will respond with a realistic platform recommendation, typically within 12 business hours.
